Our Story
In October of 2002, Victory Baptist Church was birthed under the leadership of Brent and Rachel Strouf.
For the first two years, God allowed VBC to meet in a rented gymnasium facility at the Kitiyama School in Union City. The building was only four years old at the time and provided a great start to our church. Through door to door soul-winning and the faithful preaching of the Word of God; our church grew out of this gymnasium and soon found another home at the gymnasium of the Patterson Elementary School in Fremont.
God faithfully worked and grew our church during the next two and a half years in the Patterson gymnasium while we continued to pray for a church building. In July of 2007, God opened the door for us to rent a church building in the heart of Union City where we stayed for several years.
In February of 2012, Victory Baptist Church called on Devon Ortiz to be the Pastor. In 2018 our church made another move into a historic Baptist church in Fremont with the hopes of it becoming the new and permanent residence of our congregation. God had other plans. We stayed in our Irvington district site for one short year, before that property was unfortunately sold.
In our church’s need for a new property, God opened the doors for us to meet at a beautiful church on the main road of Mission. This provided our church with more flexibility, better service times and a gorgeous property full of potential. Our new home address is 40546 Mission Blvd. Fremont, CA 94539.
Although our location has changed and some faces have changed, there’s one thing that hasn’t changed—-the message. We make no apologies for the strong stand we take on the Word of God and the fervent preaching we have in our services. We believe that God has “in due times manifested His Word through preaching.” Our Pastor has faithfully preached the Word of God and continues to preach the needy message of Jesus Christ and old fashioned Christianity in this great area in which we live.
